App Store vs Google Play Store: New Year's Revenues

It was announced that around 277 million dollars have been spent worldwide for the App Store and Google Play Store during the New Year and Christmas that preceded it. 11.3 percent increase compared to the same period last year. Last year, this figure is around 249 million dollars.

 70 percent of the total spending of $ 277 million was realized in the App Store. Users spent a total of $ 193 million. Compared to last year, this ratio increased by 16 percent.

 In the Google Play Store, spending increased by 2.4 percent and reached $ 84 million.

 Of course, the games dominated the lists. On both platforms, a total of $ 210 million was spent on games alone. Of course, among these games, PUBG Mobile is the leader with $ 8.5 million. PUBG Mobile, which spent $ 1.6 million last year, was a 431 percent success.

 For entertainment applications, the App Store has a 24 percent rise in Disney Plus and Tencent Video.

 Tinder also generated 2.1 million in revenue.

 Total revenue generated by the App Store and Play Store during December is expected to reach $ 5.1 billion globally. This amount was 4.7 billion dollars last year.
